She was a beautiful, kind-hearted, selfless yet ambitious young lady. Every emotion with her was passionate. She didn’t know how to do moderate or be neutral. It was either love or hate. There was no grey area with her.

Balance – could be used as another name for her; whether this was work and life balance, work and relationships or any other two factors that are important. What she could never balance was her love. Love meant everything to her. For her love was life even before she knew what love was, what it means, what it does to people and how it impacts lives.

She did everything for her love, her passion, her drive in life. Things any normal girl wouldn’t really do… but she did. But then again she wasn’t normal, she was a fighter, she was a beautiful girl yet a bit boyish. After all she had learnt how to be her own hero because life had left her no choice.

She won every battle in life no matter how hard, how long, how painful… but… there was one battle she couldn’t win. She always believed that love and death always come uninvited in life. On one hand, love was her life; she wanted to be loved the way she loved, fiercely, unconditionally, truly, deeply and fearlessly. And on the other hand, this girl wasn’t scared of death. She embraced death like one embraces a loved one.

She always said death doesn’t scare her; love does, because that is the only thing in this world that has the power to completely destroy a person to the point where nothing can help them survive.

She knew this battle would kill her as if her love wasn’t enough to do the job but she never said a word, nothing. Never grumbled. Never complained to God or questioned Him.

But… she looked up and smiled at God – thanked him for the blessings He had given her in life and for an amazing life she believed she lived despite the melancholia. And then… with an even bigger smile said… “I’ll see you soon”.

But there was only one thing she wanted before she let her guard down, and that was to see her love and say goodbye. And she got that opportunity, to see, feel, experience her life – her love… but for some reason she didn’t say goodbye. She just left taking all those memories that they had together adding them to this last time, smiled at her love… with her eyes tearing up… saying goodbye in her heart and not out loud and turned away. Thanking God once again for the last time before…

… losing her battle. The girl that never lost any challenge, that never gave up when life got tough or lost any fight in life… lost her first ever battle not with or against life but against death; the one thing that didn’t scare her. She battled for a prolonged time of 25 months what felt like 25 years with Mr C aka cancer and in the end lost.
